1. Who We Are

CloudPrice ("we", "us", "our") is a free cloud server price comparison tool. We compare pricing across major cloud providers including AWS, Azure, GCP, DigitalOcean, Vultr, and Linode. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use information when you visit cloudprice.dev.

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal data. Specifically:

  • Email address — only if you voluntarily subscribe to price drop alerts or submit a contact, feedback, or feature request form.
  • IP address — processed transiently in memory for rate limiting and security purposes. Not stored to disk or logged.
  • Filter preferences — stored as URL parameters in your browser, not on our servers.
  • Usage data — collected by Google Analytics only after you have given consent (see Section 4).
  • Advertising data — collected by Google AdSense only after you have given consent (see Section 4).

We do not require account registration and do not store passwords or personal profiles.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To send price drop alert notifications if you subscribed.
  • To respond to contact, feedback, or feature request submissions.
  • To improve the service based on aggregate, anonymized usage data.
  • To protect the service against abuse, spam, and denial-of-service attacks.

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Google AdSense & Analytics

This website uses Google AdSense to display advertisements and Google Analytics to understand site usage. These services use cookies and tracking technologies. Neither service is loaded until you have consented through our cookie consent notice.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Affiliate & Referral Links

Some links on CloudPrice are affiliate links. When you click these links and sign up or make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. These commissions help us keep the service free. Affiliated providers include but are not limited to DigitalOcean, Vultr, and Linode.

All pricing data displayed is pulled from official provider APIs and is not influenced by affiliate relationships. Affiliate links are routed through our own redirect service (/go/[provider]) so that raw affiliate URLs are not exposed in the browser.

Disclosure required by the FTC (16 CFR Part 255), UK ASA, and the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive.

6. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for basic site functionality (e.g., locale and currency preference). These do not require consent.
  • Analytics cookies — Google Analytics, to understand aggregate site usage. Requires your consent.
  • Advertising cookies — Google AdSense, for ad display and personalization. Requires your consent.

You can withdraw consent or manage cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling non-essential cookies does not affect core site functionality.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect data under their own privacy policies:

  • Google AdSense / Google Analytics (consent-gated)
  • Cloud provider pricing APIs (AWS, Azure, GCP, DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, Hetzner, Scaleway, OVHcloud) — these are server-to-server API calls; no user data is shared with these providers

8. Data Retention

  • Price alert emails — retained until you request deletion.
  • Contact / feedback / feature request submissions — forwarded to our email inbox and retained for up to 12 months from receipt, then deleted.
  • IP addresses — held in memory only for rate-limiting windows (typically 10–60 minutes); never written to persistent storage.
  • Analytics data — retained for 26 months by Google Analytics (their default).

You may request deletion of your data at any time via the Contact page.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights:

  • EU/EEA & UK (GDPR / UK GDPR) — Right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, portability, object, and withdraw consent. See our GDPR Compliance page for full details.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA) — See Section 10 below.
  • Canada (PIPEDA) — Right to access and correct personal information; right to withdraw consent. Contact us via the Contact page.
  • Brazil (LGPD) — Rights equivalent to GDPR including access, correction, deletion, and portability. Contact us via the Contact page.
  • Australia (Privacy Act 1988) — Right to access and correct personal information held about you. Contact us via the Contact page.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grants you the following rights:

  • Right to Know — Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the purposes of collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
  • Right to Delete — Request deletion of personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Correct — Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing — We do not sell personal information. However, our use of Google AdSense may constitute "sharing" of personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes under the CPRA. You can opt out via Google Ads Settings or by using a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under CPRA.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights.

Categories of personal information collected: identifiers (email, IP address), internet or other electronic network activity information (usage data via Google Analytics with consent), and inferences from that data.

To submit a CCPA request, contact us via the Contact page. We will respond within 45 days (extendable to 90 days with notice).

11. International Transfers

CloudPrice operates globally. Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. For transfers from the EU/EEA and UK, we rely on Google's participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). Where no adequacy decision exists, we ensure equivalent protection through appropriate safeguards.

12. Children's Privacy

CloudPrice is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA, or such higher age as required by applicable member state law). If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. For material changes, we will take reasonable steps to inform affected users (e.g., via a prominent notice on the website). Your continued use of the site following notice of changes does not constitute consent to the revised policy where consent is required by law.
